I love a good, weird RPG Maker game. I think Fear and Hunger (and its sequel) are awesome little games, though they're really rough to stomach, both thematically and gameplay-wise. (Disclaimer: it's got a grocery list of content warnings. Check it out at your own risk. You can see hostile monster schlong within the first 3 minutes of gameplay.) I didn't really have halloween plans that year outside of maybe re-wearing a cosplay, so when I checked my local thrift for fun and found a long white cotton gown, fresh off of pestering my partner into trying it out, I knew exactly what golden opportunity I had just ran into.

I dyed the whole robe with black cotton dye, bought a long while wig (labeled... for Elsa?) and dyed the roots darker. I sewed up some long green gloves out of leftover fabric from my Link cosplay, and used EVA Foam to create his odd little metal doodad on the front of the robe. The metal plate attaches with neodymium magnets; there's a little fabric strap with the other half of the magnets on the inside which hold by sandwiching the robe in-between, leaving the robe re-useable for other costumes. A quick project that came out looking great!

I didn't end up wearing it for halloween (too windy, I didn't wanna ruin the wig), but I took a few photos at home and managed to recreate the menu selection art in front of a curtain with the lights out, which greatly satisfies me. Another costume that's so easy to store that it doesn't really matter to me if I didn't wear it at a convention yet; it'll have its day eventually, when I'm digging in my closet for something cool to wear. It does help I think I have the "guy who's having a shit week in the dungeons" expression down pat.

Yes, I'm trash at this game and haven't even managed to get to save Legarde even once. It's hard, dangit!
