Return to Arts and Crafts

I wanted to revisit Mother 3 in 2019, since I had fond memories of my Kumatora cosplay in 2015 and had recently replayed the game again. There was a small con coming up (which unfortunately ended up sucking, oops), but I didn't wanna just remake Kumatora, so I decided to bang out a quick Lucas cosplay instead!

Lucas was simple: a pair of jean shorts and shoes from my closet, a short mohawk wig cut and styled into his signature Jimmy Neutron haircut, and a wonderfully vibrant Lucas Shirt from Fangamer. (I'll never forgive them to discontinuing it.) I also made two plush for it: a Mr Saturn using Eye5's Mr. Saturn pattern, and a Rope Snake I patterned from scratch. (I learned to thread sculpt for the belly segments!)

I brought Lucas to two events, since there was a Smash Brothers group photoshoot at the second one I wanted to participate in. It was comfortable and lightweight and I got to gush about Mother 3 with fellow Earthbound fans! It was a nice experience. I like the results of the costume, especially the props, but it was always a bit weird looking at myself while wearing it since Lucas is kind of just a little Peanuts blob-guy to me.
