Malignant Data Nullref

Malignant data. Dangerous digital entity. Evil creepypasta-inspired doggy.

Nullref is supernatural, corrupted software taken form. Torments victims through electronics until paranoia sets in, goading them to interact with her data through possessed chat apps, infected game executables and other interactive digital means. Awareness of her presence allows her to become tangible, leaving the digital realm to wreck havoc. Sufficiently broken victims are taken over with the goal of propagating new access points for her corrupted data until the host's shell ultimately crumbles. The victim's passing breaks her anchor to the physical world, returning her to the digital realm to begin the process anew.

A balance of subtlety and violence is needed to thrive; she revels in the chance to maul and cause misery, but pays utmost care to leave only a trail of breadcrumbs behind to lure the next poor schmuck in without raising alarm.
